whats the differences between a short body and a fat endli? the fish in pictures 1, 2, 4, are the same age, and the congicus in picture 3 and 4 are the same length(13"), but the fat one is twice the girth- also his head is gigantic in width, but very low and flat in height- how would I judge the spoonheadedness of it? is there a standard or something? thanks all-

one other thing- in the pictures they were begging for food- so its not like he ate too much and was stuffed- and he eats the same amount as the other two

toad looks way bigger irl... and threefour looks good..

wondering the same thing. Mines skinny but feeds a lot. I see pictures of other peoples endli's and im wondering how they got so fat. Is there a short body thing going on ?

I feed them shrimp and massivore at every meal along with either smalt, tilapia, or pollock- earthworms and goldfish each get fed weekly- they were getting two meals a day until recently, now its usually one- but all of them, including the fat one eat the same amount

I think you might be right- did you pick any expensive fish up this weekend? when your silver gets beat up, bring him by so we can put it in the pond

I've noticed a pattern in endli growth of 'stretch and fill'.

They will have a growth spurt in length, then fill out in size, then stretch again.

Also, I've seen large differences in girth even when length is only a couple inches apart, there is a lot of genetic diversity in these fish with respect to length vs. girth.
