Just curious why do people want the true spotted? Are they legal to own?

I don't know if people want spotted gars, since most people think they are the exact same as florida gars (usually because they are mislabeled). In my opinion, spotted gars look alot better than florida gars. Their colors and pattern are generally better. Toyin is the only person I'm aware of who does sell them regularly. I also believe he is the only person who export them internationally as well.
I haven’t bought from Toyin in years. How do you get hold of his stock list?I had mentioned I was interested in Shortnose Gars to Toyin/Rehobothaquatics and he said he'd see what he could do. He might be more inclined to seriously consider it if more people showed interest.Especially since he said if he brought them in, he'd be collecting them himself. I've always been a Gar fan, hence the now defunct GAR]v[Y in my siggy. I currently have a pied Florida, 2 Cubans and a Tropical and would love to have a Shorty again.
Toyin, I don't think posts a stock list. I believe he primarily deals with retailers, but he does post on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/rehobothaquatics
I email or text him, his email is Rehobothaquatics2000@gmail.com and usually have to tell him what I'm looking for and he'll send me prices and sizes. I've asked about a mailing list etc but I don't think he does that or at least hasn't for me. I know he has Polys so I usually ask about them and since he just posted a pic of a true spotted gar I was going to ask about them.
