Would a short nose fit in a 155 gal.

This badfish guy, is going to EVERY forum and asking what can he put in his 155. From Arowanas all the way down to Dats.

Just get some SA/CA cichlids man.

Yes and 80% of the time it should be dead before 10 inches...This is not saying anything about your husbandry or tank it is just the fish. Lepisosteus platostomus are nutty and tend to kill themselves easily. These particular gar are not recommended for those that have not kept many of these fish before and really not a fish for a community tank should you want it to live well. A Florida or Tropical would be a much better fish but you very well will need an upgrade on tank size eventually.

well dont be a jerk about it, the reason of this site is to give people info and hes learned plenty from posting in all those forums so stop posting in his threads just to give him a bad time. and he already has a cichlid/growout tank and doesnt want just cichlids in his tank, so stop bugging him.

my shortnose gar is about 20" now. dead by 10"? i never even heard of that. mine was in a 150gal but it grew so fast that within 6 months i didnt want it in there anymore. he started turning funny and almost grew a kink in its body from the skinny tank. it lives gracefully in my 400gal and from what i hear, its one of the nicest tank kept shortnose gar some people have seen.

Shortnose get even bigger then Florida from what I have been told.

You could get needlenose gar wich are not true gar but still have the gar look. Also, if you get two or three they will swim around in a mini-school wich looks quite nice.

you sir are wrong. they have needle nose gars that are tru gars as well. but most gars u see in fish stores are not tru gars.

I have never seen a true gar in my life as they are Illegal were I reside.

And by needlenose gar I was speaking of the commonly sold species wich arent true gar.

then u shouldn't call it a gar, as it is not. commonly sold or not.
