.........oh yea, and don't knock sugar gliders them's fightin' words - N

I had a sto a few years ago and he was a really cool animal. He was easy to handle and it was always fun to watch him hunt. The thing that I dislike about him though was that his poop smelled horrendous. It was hands down the worst I have had to deal with. If you can get over that they are a really cool animal and I am sure you will enjoy it! One thing I would recommend is feeding it a high protein food. When I first got mine it had moderate fur loss due to having a low protein diet and it slowly began to grow back once I switched foods.
thanks for the info. i will give him mostly insects and things like that.

Particle board emits an awful lot of formaldehyde, you might think twice before putting a marsupial in that box... http://vbn.aau.dk/files/18312272/160.pdf

As someone who makes a habit of criticizing other members aquariums/habitats, it is quite brave of you to post that photo. :nilly:

lmao flemming, crackhead..

I was about to say pboard's a no go in the reptile world. I'm thinking the typical wire would be more appropriate but Im new to stos.

............anyone see slash yet?

thanks for your input. Those boards are of course free of formaldehyde. They are class F0. Lignin is used as binder. Since we cleared that now. You can move on and tell me your opinion about the interior.

Where to begin?

The interior is made entirely out of absorptive material, which will of course lead to mold/mildew issues as well as a pervasive urine odor.

There is extremely insufficient ventilation, unless there is a large screened portion not visible in the photo. The tiny ventilation port visible is ridiculously small.

It should have a water bottle rather than a bowl.

There has been no attempt made to recreate the animal's natural environs. You think Bichirs suffer from being housed in an unnatural environment, yet you build this ugly box with a stick to keep an Opossum in?

"I think best would be to search another enclosure. I don´t see how that tank could be a proper home for that species. But thats just my opinion."

The plates do not absorb water. You are aware of the concept of impregnation and waterproofing? :)

The "tiny ventilation hole" is one of 8. It does not drink from a bottle at start, infact opossums need constant view of water. They can easly dehydrate. Bottles are a main reason for that. They must be slowly adapted for the use of bottles. I won't comment the clown part of your comment. But hey you think an old aquarium tank is a good home for a chinese water dragon (thats what your last sentence implies...).

Do they climb at all? If he's going to be as small as I guess, in relation to that box what do you think about turning it on end, and getting a lot more brances, with some fake leaves (assuming he won't chew on them) and making it an 'arboreal' enclosure? Assuming they climb, you know what I'm saying? - N
