I came across this short body goonch at a fish store it was as wide as a football. I wonder how common are these in the hobby I dont want to get anything that gets larger than 2-3 feet.

Haven’t seen any sb goonches. Rare for sure. Wonder how big it’ll get. I’m looking for the dwarf goonch myself.
Mmmmm my question wouldn’t be how big ? Mine would be why on earth would anyone?

Thats a big boy. I've been in love with goonch cats since I became aware of their existence thanks to river monsters almost 20 years ago. Thats the first shortbody goonch I've ever seen.
I'd call it B. lica under the old classification, but I've not unravelled Dr. Ng's reclassification yet so idk what it'd be called in the new naming scheme
A first for me too. PredatoryFins? Where on Long Island you walk into an LFS to find a sb goonch? 
This i got from Monster Aquaria in flushing wasnt even on their website. Worked out perfectly for me.
