Should I add an orino?

Have you treated for internal parasites at all?

IMO he looks deformed or atleast stunted. Ive seen a fair share of skinny bass but they didnt look like that. His back slopes down too much. huge head, huge tail, he has to be deformed or something.

I wanted to say the same thing. My guess is that the Orino was seriously malnourished for a long time. That's why it looks like it's head has outgrown it's body. Without proper nutrition a fish will lose a lot of body mass and could very well damage it's digestive system. I seen that happen with other bass before amd African cichlids. I've never seen a fish recover from that and they've always died prematurely. I wouldve complained to the seller for getting a fish like that. No healthy bass should come in looking like that! Zapantha, I hope the best for your Orino.

Thanks dude; I mean I was hearing nothing but good things about the vendor so I really didn't expect him to be this skinny either, but I'm just gonna try my best to get him recovered.

I don't think it's deformed in any way. Just needs to be fattened up a bit. Keep feeding him a variety and eating. Just give hime time.

Agreed, he's just skinny imo....I think he'll be ok once he's beefed up. My ipatinga came in extremely skinny with a big head and once I fattened her up she was just fine.

Does anyone out there have good tips on fattening up fish in that condition? I'd like to know for future reference. Closest I've come to was for a friend who had a kelberi that looked close to that. Another friend recommended isolation and treating with Prazipro. After that he was able to get his bass' appetite up. I haven't seen the full results yet as its been only about 6 weeks.
