Should I be concerned??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for all the imput, it is greatly appreciated! I am less concerned now than i was when i first saw it , i very well could have bumped it while lifting it onto the stand and it figuars that my brother in law was on that side. It is sitting perfectly level on a 2" square tubing frame that we designed and welded at my work and there is a sheet of 3/4" plywood between the tank and stand. As for the floor, it is running parallel with the floor joist however the family room that it is in was once a garage and i have doubled the floor joists and blocked them to the concrete slab. I will post some pics of the completed project as long as the tank holds. thamks again to all who replied.

Well at least you don't have carpet ... but i think its going to be fine, sometimes LIGHTLY run your fingers over the crack...and i would measure the crack now, and measure it from time to time to see if its expanding.

I just put the hardwood floors in 4 months ago and i have a pretty nice rug that i dont think you can see from the pics. i think if the tank springs a leak or gives out i will have to gut the whole room again. then i wont be able to afford a new tank! I'm gonna roll the dice with it, its just a stressful thought.

I have a tank like this that I bought and later realized that, it's been running for 4 years or so. I'm not saying your tank is safe, but mine is

HA! it's ALWAYS the "in-laws"! They just don't care as much about your stuff as you do. It's rare that you find someone that does.... Unfortunately!?

So you didn't put any 3/4" Foam between the tank and the stand? It always helps to do that to aid in the offset of the stress points...
