Should I Be Mad? LFS Rant...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would've insisted on taking them with no guarantee. They're not the brightest bulbs on the tree if they think meds are going to help when all the fish need is kind tankmates and clean water. The meds aren't going to do a bit of good with those other fish still picking on them. I'd have stood there in the store til closing if I'd have had to and I'd have insisted on paying full price w/no guarantee.

I tell the owner to stick it in his a_ _! Once a fish store screws me around I go somewhere else, Luckily where I live in Michigan there are a number of good stores.

They want your business back make them work for it or just move on to another store that cares about their costomers. Here in s/e Michigan we have way to many stores around for anyone to want to screw over a costomer because we will goo some where else but I have a real good relationship with all the store owners in my area so I dont have to worry to much.

If i was you i'd go back there tell them they are going to loose a great customer. and take those poor fish and save there life. at this point thats all they can depend on even no there just fish, my lfs loves me they know how much i spend and wouldnt dare to upset me.

I had a horn shark on hold back when i was into the whole Saltwater hobby and They ended up selling the animal knowing that he was on Hold ( an employee sold him to a friend). When i found out I was upset. I asked for a refund. they didnt want to refund me the payment i had put down( $100 bucks), instead they offered to give me store credit or to choose some fish. I gave them Hell about it, letting them know very loudly how irresponsible they are, knowing that I spent my money there (at the time) every week -add loud customer ramble here- Needless to say, I got my Full refund and left never to return again.

I found a new place 2 blocks away and am happy with them, their very clean even have their bettas in divivde 5 gal tanks, Everytime i buy feeders from them, those fish are hardy and seem healthy- their not "half life feeders"- as i call them where you buy 20 and the next day 5 are already dead.

I believe that they had the best intentions on holding your fish to make them better and the employee who ignored the fact that your fish were visably being picked on was iresponsible. However if they Really wanted to make a sale- common sense would be Place them in a quarantine tank without other fishes and medicate correctly as they originally told you (four days before- not a day before) . but im sure if you were to wait and the fish got better in the end, they would have upped the price unknowingly to you to pay for the medication used etc.. because some stores are like that. So either way you are right to be mad because you lost out..

it just really sucks when it's a place you like, and you thought you had developed a relationship with . . . I have an LFS near me that I frequent, and I do it because I want to develop that quid-pro-quo situation, where I buy from them, and they help me out when I need it . . .

I think if this had been just some generic LFS, you would have written it off and not cared . . . it's because you thought you had a rapport with these people, that they would work with you, and they didn't (!)

in other words, I don't blame you for being p***ed, I would be too . . .
