Should I Breed Mollies?

As far as your nitrate levels go, have you tested your source water? If the water you are adding after a water change has nitrates, it will be hard to reduce the total nitrate level of the tank.

I have tested, it reads 5 or less.

Are you guys SURE they don't need salt for their health, the more I research the more people I find who say they do.

While salt may be beneficial to mollies, they don't really require it.

Agreed. I've breed plenty of mollies for feeders with no salt what so ever. Captive breed mollies don't require salt for breeding. I like using 1 male per five females. Ive also had males become very agressive with each other and also had males "breed" themselves to death.

Mine as well, I had 3 males to start and the other ones would go around slapping it with their caudal fin. They still do it occasionally to each other but not as often now. My males also do the characteristic thing where they put their mouths right next to each other's anal fins just like males do to females when they are close to giving birth, weird fish.

Would this be overstocked?:

1 angelfish
1 blue gourami
3 penguin tetras
1 black phantom tetra
2 bronze corydoras
1 asian bumblebee catfish
1 BN pleco
5 mollies (2 males, 3 females)
