When i had my rtc he would eat needle fish 3''s bigger then he was. When he ate my first needle fish he had it sticking out of his mouth for a day and you could see the head poking out of his side. So just remember to keep them full or with things that wont fit in there mouth. For me it was one of the biggest fish buying mistakes so far, when i bought him i was a noob at fish keeping and he was only about 1'', he quickly grew to over a foot in my 55 in a little less then a year. But i suppose if you have a large tank then it should be good.

Even if you blew a neon tetra up to RTC size it would eat anything it could fit in its mouth, this is the rule with all fish.

RTC have large mouths and a fast growth rate.

I would set the pond up for it like the others say or give them a swerve.

what a random unhelpful thing to say. some fish will actively hunting everything and anything which could fit its mouth. i have like the other day my dempsey had a whole algae eater in its mouth. couldn't believe my eyes. last thing i want is a mid size rtc chasing cichlids around. that was the point, more about its temerament than fish physics.
