i wouldnt buy it. too much money. thats a rather plain homemade stand. wait, and a better deal will come around. and just my opinion, if you have room for a 4ft tank, buy a 75 or 90. youll be happier in the long run!

exactly. the other day, I posted an ad in the 'wanted' section of craig's list. I said I was looking for an aquarium, 75-125 gallons. will pay $1.00 per gallon. I got 4 responses within a few hours.

post an ad looking for a 75, 90, or 110. keep posting every week, if necessary. you'll find a better deal on a better tank.

or, make this guy an offer. see if he'll take $100. thats another thing I did. A lady was asking $250 for a 72 gallon bowfront. I sent an email and told her I was interested, and gave her my number. When she called, I offered her $100. She laughed. A week later, she called me back; ready to haggle. She just left another voice mail a week ago.

people ask way too much on craigslist. aquarium equipment has little resale value. its a buyer's market.

Good luck!!

it took me awhile but i got my 112 with two canisters ( eheim 2260 and a magnum 350 ) plus alot of other stuff for 65 buxs. he wanted 100 but i told him i have 65 right now in cash so he took it. and its the best tank yet! dont get me started on the canisters! they work great! besides the magnun. gotta get that fixed.

no wait his actuall craigslist price was 300. i called and he offered 100 then 2 weeks later i called him back and asked if he would take 65

I just bought a 55 with stand, hood, tank, jager heater, emperor 400, penguin 350b, aquatech 20-40, decorations, and air pump for $75.

Trust me, this was the best deal I've seen in a while, but if you're patient, you'll see it.

Perhaps you can offer the seller less. I agree with everyone else on here that $250.00 is a little much especially with that home made stand. (New 55 gal at my LFS goes for $75.00, but that's just the tank)

Personally, I don't like the stand. It looks cheep, you can find a better one for that price. But it's your choice, you might like the stand.

You can get better deals if you wait. I've seen free 55 and 75 setups before, except I couldn't take them because I need delivery(year away from driving) and obviously nobody delivers free stuff :P

I got a 55 with stand, hood/lights, 2 penguin 350s and less valuable stuff like gravel, decor, etc. for $150 delivered

I wouldn't buy it personally. Tanks are expensive in my area and most people ask that for a 55 gallon, but they don't sell. I got two 55 gallons with filters, substrate, stands, delivery, everything you would need for $150
