Should I buy?

I am going to be breeding these fish in orange 5.5gal buckets that are about 1/3-2/3 full. I put half a foam cup for the male to make the bubble nest. The fry will be grown out in a glass bottom tank with some moss in it. I am going to get some sponge filters for the grow out tanks.

1. They've been bred before, so my first thought is: how old are they? I don't know how they compare to betta splendens, but betta splendens reach their breeding peak at between 3 - 6 months of age.

2. From your previous posts, it seems like you haven't had much success breeding regular bettas. From what I hear, wilds are generally harder to breed.

3. Having bred and raised a few betta spawns myself, I couldn't imagine how hard it'd be to breed bettas in a bucket. You need to be able to see underneath the bubblenest. Also, moving fry at an early age can be stressful. Your best bet is raise the fry in the same tank that they were bred in.

It's one method of breeding, but whether or not it's more effective is debatable. Just make sure you have a very well conditioned female, however. In such tight quarters, she's bound to take a bit of a beating.
