I have a 250w stealth heating my 90G currently and doing a great job (had it for over a year).

I'm in the market for a heater for my 60G and thinking of getting another stealth but recently there's been many scary threads about frying fish, shocking hands, blowing up etc etc...

what to do: go for another stealth or something else?

IMO, its a crap shoot. Any brand you get, there's the likelyhood of getting a bad heater (just search the forums, you can probably find a bad experience with every single brand of heater ever made).

I use Visi-therms (made by Marineland, just like the stealths) and I love them. I've never had a problem in years of using them.

If you're using a stealth and are happy with it, get another. If you'd like to try a different brand to see if you like it better, then go that way. A lot of people seem to be recommending Ebo Jager, but I've not heard much about them.

ive always used Hydor theo heaters.

I am a strict user of Visitherm Stealth jeaters. I have used/am using 10 of them and have never had a problem.

I strongly suggest them.

from what i saw(through pictures) they look exactly the same.

Visitherm is just the company that makes the "Stealth" heaters. Sorry, wasn't trying to be difficult.

i like the stealth, i dont have to worry about the heater glass breaking
