If you want to keep stingray then go for it:), it's good to learn to keep fish that you want your tank is ok for grow out stingray I'm sure when time come you know what to do, I use to keep my first stingray5" in 4'tank keep him for 6 month after that I bought a bigger tank7'*2' and never have a problem with it same as water my only filter is overflow but I did change water and never let it too dirty, good luck and have fun with your ray:)

I would go for it, as long as you have a plan ready for it I don't see why not.

Filtration on the other hand I think is lacking but I'm excessive about my hobbies.

I have 2xFX5 and a 300g wet/dry on my 6x2x2 and not content with it yet but there's not enough space underneath so I will probably upgrade the tank size so I can have moar room for filtration.

If its only 4 months til you get your next tank then just wait, getting the ray settled to go and move it again isn't a great idea. This way you don't waste money on a filter and can put that towards the sump on the next tank

i am waiting till i get my new tank before i get any tank mates for my aro saves all the stress to the fish n easyier to move 1 then a few

imo a 6x2x2 isnt big enough for an adult silver arrow either. It might be big enough for a year or so. But a standard 210, or 180 won't cut it long term. I would go with a bigger footprint as both fish would appreciate it. if going bigger is cost prohibitive for a tank, you migh consider an indoor pond with a viewing panel ect in the future. GL both are amazing fish to own.

Rays are the most common dying and sick thread on mfk, imo if u have to ask us then no.......I don't think 25% of the ppl here even have the capacity

180 gallon tank isn't big enough for any ray out there, like everyone else is saying you'll need at least a 36" width tank
