I may be getting a young 7" cuvier's caiman through a trade im considering. Anyone had any experience they would like to share with them?! If I do end up getting it, it will be going into a 100gal rubbermaid then a aboveground pond enclosure I would like to build for it later on.... thing is I know they will hit at least 18" within their first year or possibly more. Yes, I do know how large they get and how aggro they can be so I dont need any, "ARE YOU CRAZY?! DO YOU KNOW WTF YOUR GETTING?!" comments please.

if ur ready for it doit thatd be a very awesome pet! ur enclosure idea sounds fine too

be prapared to feed that thing some critters
 
If you already know what care they require, what do you want from us?

Personally, if I was wealthy, and had the time and effort to devote to such an animal, I would get it. But it really is a personal decision beyond being educated on care
 
Yes, I have plenty to feed him thats for sure. I was mainly seeking info from others that may have had some exp. keeping these guys and what type of enclosures they were housed in thats all. Also any tips for a new keeper as I never really stepped into the crocodilian scene.

Ah. Yea, there are a couple guys on here who have had them before. Also, do a quick search...There was a pretty good thread awhile back with a TON of info regarding keeping caimens, as well as some great sites.
