I have the chance to get a WC Buettikoferi. The store I got my WC lap has them up for 58$. They say theyre 7"+. Would it be ssafe to buy one without getting it eaten by my 10" lap? Is that a good deal?

Genetics, food, filtration, water quality that would dictate the size", well it will take 2years or so to have a 20"+ bichir, not unless you do have a fast growing ornate which said to be the fastest grower.

Actually, I think I could get one. I forgot I have a 7" sen in the tank too. I think it would be good. But regarding aggression? Are they really aggressive? Cause all my fish are passive even the lap and the florida gar

Well they're pretty passive, why? Because we've got raining season means drop in degrees which cause slow metabolism, hence which will reduce aggression issues. Well you could introduce them but there will be snapping issues which won't really hurt, but if it's going to be a problem, I suggest you transfer it to another tank, put some girth on it then put it back to the main.

No, youll be fine if its 7". Also if youre worried about when their full grown dont be because people keep upper and lower jaw bichirs together all the time.

Yeah what if its summer. Well if the species itself is passive then I hope to get one as passive as my other fish. Never have I had any snapping issues with mine. :) well except for the gar he used to try to eat one of my sens but that was a long time ago lol

Okay thanks! Im not really worried cause if anything gets too big I can move the upper jaws to another tank. Ive two endlis, an ornate, and a delhezi growing out in a 20gal. Cant wait to get them all together!
