Should I get one?

Buetts usually don't get that big they usually max around the 11-14" area give or take a few inches. As far as aggression IMO it depends on the species, but the majority of the buetts won't be aggressive. As far as the seasons i don't really think thats means a whole lot when they are in home aquaria seeing as how we usually have heaters that will keep the tank at a constant temp

Thanks again. Too bad they dont grow as big. But as Ive read, WC ones are more likely to grow to their max size of 14" right? I was drawn by the yellow on their backs and I think they would really contrast to my scary looking lap.

Here we dont really use heaters because the waters usually remain at a constant tropical temperature given that we live in a tropical country. It only varies during the rainy season but not by very much.

Lol divasen meant paratilapia buttikoferi, which are extremley aggressive cichlids. Of course polypterus buettikoferi is not aggressive.
