Should I get the Black Calvus?

There's not much left to grow out on him. Calvus are extremely slow growers. You could make the 30g his permanent home and get some other tangs to go in there with him. Some shellies or julies would be good, just stick to smaller species.

Really how big is their usually max and what other fish i was thinking like maybe a jewel or severum.

Max is about 6" but I've never seen one that big. I've had mine for almost 2 years now and he's maybe 2.5". They are extremely slow growers. Both jewels and sevs would be poor choices for tankmates. Stick with other small Tanganyikans like I mentioned in the post above.
