sorry im late.....i woke up 2 days ago to ifnd green algae everhwhere. I thought that this was a good thing becuase i knew that green algae was good but i didnt know to what extent. Yesterday i wake up and there is now brown and green algae all over everything. Some leaves on the plants are starting to die off too. So today i bought 2 algae eaters. I really had no expectaions out of them but they did eat a little bit of algae.....What should my next step be?

yuck.. that sucks.. maybe ur co2 isn't working after all... try cutting down on the light and feeding. scrub the glass good and do a few water changes.also u should increase ur water change regime. maybe u should try some Excel also..

what algae eater did u get?

for a relatively quick fix, you could try using Algone in your filter . . . I've never had a problem with green algae, but I have used it to help stabilize conditions in very small tanks, and it is supposed to work very well on green algae

if nothing else, it could help you maintain good water quality while you are getting your tank started . . .

i got 2 oto's. What is your schedule with water changes?

40%/week i have never gotten algae and my tank is 4.5watts/G. Co2 and Excel really help IMO..

u don't have to follow what i do but i recommend u be consistent with ur tank/water maintenance.

also like i said early increase ur water change regime and clean ur glass often.

make sure ur filter is in check too!
