Im usally in the SA/CA MFK section and have been for a few years now, some of my favourites are my Dovii, midas, Umbee and my little Haiti im curently growing out. Thing is I have a nice size 220g (72"x30"x24") Where my Umbee resides. Umbee dosnt move around much and lost his color for some reason and just not feeling him any more. Was thinking about geting cichla to replace him,
Is there any one here who has replaced there collection with cichla? Will I regret the swap? Is this tank size good for say a orino?

my buddy had a gorgeous mono that hit 14 inch before he got rid of it and he was quite the fish, quite the site to see , so any help with this desicion will be greatly appreciated! Also nice thing would be that they arnt diggers and mess up tank??

I would say that the only way to tell which one is better for you is to have both and you decide. Some people hate cichla and some people hate sa/ca

I came from dats and arowanas and I couldn't be happier to make the switch. It's up to you to make the switch but you should try getting one and see if you like it. Start with a mono it hybrid since they're cheap. Go from there

Dont start cheap! Just do your research and make up your mind. Orino's are quite cheap considering some of the other options. 1-3 orino's would work in your 225g. That is the same dims I have on my tank. The 30" width is nice compared to the standard 24".

I say Orino because they max out less then most. I guess in a nut shell I just want some things that make ypu guys choose to collect these beast! For me I know they eat like machines and that they will be full of action far from boring

Not all. Look at hulons orino's. Well over 20". I also had some orino's over 20". Kelberi generally stay a bit smaller.
Bass have the personality, colors, attitude and they are just tank busters. Bass are the best!

Do you think I could keep Mono in a tank my size? What are some of your fav variants?

A mono would work....an orino would work better...kels and/or xingus even better.

I like kels, xingus, azuls and orino's. And some of the other un-obtainable bass.
