Should I go Cichla?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Do you think I could keep Mono in a tank my size? What are some of your fav variants?

You could keep monoculus in that tank, the great thing about cichla is the great variety of species and unique patterns from different collection points. With you tank size, I would avoid the larger body types ie temensis and pinima. Kelberi is my recommendation.

It also all depending on how much money you're willing to put out
If you have the money get some nice wc Kelberi or Melanie.
If you don't want to pay too much just get a regular boring mono. Topically under $15 for a small size for a mono.

Pbass are like crack, once you start you can't truly quit, they take all your money, and your family says they are more important to you then them :naughty:

They are beautiful, active, interactive, and powerful.

x2 Ive been getting robbed for the past couple weeks too

Peacock bass are great fish, their personalities are unmatchable in my experience, i've kept most species of rare fish and nothing has an attitude like these guys, i've gone and bought fish where people have told me their fish is a real character, vicious at feeding time all that stuff.

Push come to shove, in with the peacock bass EVERYTHING is a background fish, mine will stalk me up and down the tank knowing i could throw them food at any point, they will hand feed if i try it too.

You can't go wrong, all i would say though is what Gangster says, take your time, do your research, see what one you like, don't let anyone tell you that an Orino isn't any good because their cheap and common, don't let anyone tell you that Mono's are basic and not worth bothering with just look at some pictures, look at some video's and see which you prefer the look of and then go and get some good quality ones from a reliable source, don't buy cheap and end up with some farmy hybrids else you will always be disapointed.

Get the real deal, you'll never look back

Wow! Thanks for all the responses! I can see all the passion you guys have for these great monsters! You guys are a great group and helped me alot! I will be posting pics soon :)

Idc if something is common idk why everyone has to have the" rare" fish. Orinos are my favorite out of the pbass. Cheap or not they are awesome!!
