Not always. there's sport fishing & taxidermy mounts all over some peoples' walls.
and, AS IF the OP sounded thrilled about everything to begin with. He hasn't even killed his fish, he POSTED.
Fishing reasons don't change the fact that good fish are purposely killed every day by hobbyists, most don't talk about it unless they're feeding a monster & then it's a brag fest, people always post about using most awesome species' babies for feeders for convenience and nobody flames that- much less compares it to murdering humans.
yeah, well maybe now that he has committed social-suicide-by-MFK-cops, he can see some options differently than yesterday. who knows?
if I was having tough times... and couldnt care for my fish... and couldnt sell them for DECENT money .... either what I paid for them..... or a little more since they are most likely a lot bigger.... I would probably just eat them.
noone has ever given me a freebie....... I wouldnt give them away either. cause if they cant afford to buy the fish chances are they cant afford to care for them either.
The OP statement about others profiting from his fish did come off sounding badly, but he just lost his job. doesn't sound like he has the Fort Knox collection of fish, mainly just some that he was eeking by to take care of, to begin with.
I don't know why people see these fish as sort of investment that is supposed to generate some sort of return on capital for them. You are into exotic fish for the wrong reason.
If you have a dog you can no longer care for; maybe an old lab that you grew up with.. Would you kill it rather than seeing it end up in a good and loving home? Or do you first think to yourself "can I sell him for the same price or for a profit?" I have never heard anyone trying to sell their dog when they can no longer care for them... They simply try to find the best home possible for them as first priority.
Seems to me, an exotic fish is just an item you use to show off to your friends. something that makes you feel special about yourself.....something you acquired so you can benefit out of in some way, either through profit in money, or the envy and admirations from others.
You must have been victimized or been taken advantage of at a young age to have such strong selfish believe as "if cant have it why should they", and "if I didn't get it for free, why should they?"

I used to have a friend whose parents put their dog to sleep.b Ecause they were bored of that one, after they killed him, they went and got another dog the same day. Their are some crazy people out there
