if you are going to keep the 55 gal running then you will need new filters for the 100 gal
i would buy the new filters for the 100 gal and run them on the 55 gal for 3 weeks then move the new filters to the 100 gal with the ray
its not as bad as you think setting up a new tank
even if you buy new filters and media for the 100 gal then take 50% of the old media from the 55 gal and put that in the new 100 gal filter then top them both up with new media
i used all methods when setting up my new tan and even used seachem stabilaty which worked great
