Do you dislike your ansorgii? Is there some reason you no longer want it?
Is the palmas the one species you've always dreamed of keeping?
If the answers are yes, then swap them out, if no, then keep what you have. Or, do what I do. Get another tank and keep both.

I'd keep the ansorgii I personally have a 5" buettikoferi and, it just won't grow.In like 4 months it's grown maybe 2". Keep both like stated above keep the smaller bichirs in a tank seperate from the big ones in another. How big is ansorgii? I have bichirs ranging from 3.5" to about 11" all in the same tank so it may give you time to setup the other tank you have.
Yup, the fish you showed me in the PM you sent me is most definitely not pure Ansorgii. It is an Ansorgii x Endlicheri Hybrid.
The head shape is way wrong, and Juvenile markings are wrong too.
So on that note, Getting rid of it is not really a big issue.
If it were pure breed, I would most definitely say keep it!

Keep the Ansorgii and get the other,when the size difference is too much set up another tank.
