dont get a pleco, your algae problem will not be fixed. If you have algae growing on yuor gravel something is seriously wrong, as the gravel should be vacuumed or at least stirred every two weeks, or weekly ideally. You will ignore my post giving you solid advice and buy a pleco anyway I am sure of it.

I agree, avoid a pleco.

Plecos are my main fish. I have a pair of L-114's which are carnivores in my 80 that cost me $500 bucks. I keep a bristlenose in there and he keeps the 80 algae free. I also have 1 in my 50 and it is algae free. But convicts and JD will kill any pleco you add when breeding. You gotta like plecos and not use them in place of a scub pad for $1.79. A common should be in at least a 90 with non -aggressive fish IMO.

forget about plecos. Sometimes alage is good. Depending on what type of alage it is. The fry would probably like it.

well i just ended up putting a Siamese algae eater in there would he be ok?

yea, that will be fine no one cares about them as they get real nasty as they grow.

(Caring side) - depending on the size of the JD and SAE, the SAE could be dinner. I put a 4 inch Jaguar in with a SAE once and the result was the tail hanging from the Jaguar's mouth for a few hours. I almost cried(this was back when I first started).
