Should I put sand.....

Should I put sand in my fish tank when i have an albino tiger oscar. (The "sand" is actually #1 grade gravel/stone)

Can you please explain how to set that up? I just set up my 75G with sand and I have a hard time using the Python to suck up the waste without sucking up the sand....how would I use a powerhead?

I think he means to use it like a leaf blower...just use the current to stir it up and into the filter.
