Should I remove the male?

You might be wasting your time growing out the fry that aren't blues. The fish that aren't ebs will be both bgjd and some that don't inherit the blue gene at all.
Just trying to save you from a headache.:)

congrads Dispatch on your breeding program. Like many have explained some choose to keep and some chose to remove.

I have done both. I feel that parents do need a batch to get more experience. I have had females that are great and others that eat everything. I have done like you keep a small amount with parents and rest raise on there own.

The female will chose to allow the male to help in raising the fry. But if you want ebjd at some point thats optional you will need to cull blue genes because they will out compete the ebjd.

Thanks! I know some will be regular jds and some will be bgjds. I'm going to separate the eb from the rest and grow the non-ebs to see if I can determine if they did inherit the blue gene. I also have a very hungry p-bass who will enjoy any culls I throw his way lol

I'm looking for any size between 3-4 inches. Any sex and I don't even care if they're not carrying the gene. I wouldn't mind just pairing them up and breeding for the fun of it. It always makes me feel a little green hearing about other people succeeding and mine taking their sweet time.
