i saw a beautiful lil flower horn at pertsmart... it was labeled as a Jack Dempsey... it already started to develop a KOK and had pearling all at 3.5-4 inches.... problem is i only have a 30gal i could keep him in... would it be bad to grow him out a while and them sell him properly?

He would do better in your 30 gal. than he would in any tank at petsmart or someone's tank that does not understand flowerhorns.

if you understand its a growout then i think youll be ok.

30 should be fine.. until it gets a bit bigger.. but I'd say pick up a cheap 55+ ASAP.. and it'll grow much faster, develop better color and kok.

totally agree with u.......or u could save the trouble and upgrade to a 55+ and not have to worry a/b gettin a bigger tank

well i have a 55 but i wanted it for other fish, i was just gunna buy him... grow him out a bit them sell ihm properly to a better LFS
