I refuse to pay someone for an animal that is to big for their tank on the simple principle they often turn around and go buy another baby to raise and sell. I always thought I'de be one of those to "take in fish" but I have found w/ my pool I am even more picky about what animals I bring home... They simply are not cheap to house/feed properly. Its one thing for a spectacular fishes owner to fall on hard times and need a good home for their pet... another to take in one whos owner obviously cares little or nothing for the pet. makes me wonder the quality of the care and what its going to bring to the rest of my fish. I wouldn't pay more then the going rate for a juvi from the lfs if anything. Good homes are rare, that alone has made me "give away" more then a few fish in the past. Only a few years ago my biggest tank was a 40B.. I've learned a lot since then.

That's true. It's funny cause I was just saying to my wife I could buy a juvi for half the price and keep it longer. Obviously it will be in a lot better care.

Sad but true.. even if these guys went for 100$ each as juvies.. you probably easily invest that in their first year or more. That's if your not including the set-up cost. I could keep a whole lot more fish in my pool if I wanted to get rid of my cats or gar and go w/ ca/sa cichlids ect.... but i'm finding housing just a few big fish is every bit as expensive as housing a bunch of tiny fish. I mean 20"... you can grow a RTC that big in a year or so.... so its not like these guys take alooong time to grow out either. just my 2cents

Your not lying like I said before I doubt it's actually 20" maybe 15" but not 20". The guy said he has it in a 90 but judging by the pics might be smaller may not but still you are right I can grow one out to that size in a year or so
