Because yesterday i found my yard was infested with them, in total yesterday i found around 20 earthworms. The bichir is chewing on the pellets but not eating them. He loves earthworms, also do the GT and giant danios.

Wow, this makes me want to start breeding worms. I usually buy them from the bait shop because they are all farm raised so I don't have to worry about pesticides and stuff. But at $3 for 20... That goes fast because all my fish LOVE worms. I think I'm going to use one of my spare 10g for worms. I say breed the worms, and feed pellets. Your food expences will go down but I think there might be some things worms cant offer that prepared foods can. I could be wrong about that though.

That's what i am afraid of.. if i started with worms, than he would never go back to pellets. What other foods in conjunction with the worms could i feed him? crickets don't sink unfortunately.

You could try f/d earthworms, all my fish love them. But if your bichir won't feed at the surface they won't work.

Both and other different food too.

I say go with both, there are also human benefits with worms. Like you can feed all your left over food scraps to them, I know worms make great compost if you garden. Man, I think I'm going to have to do it... Geez, I feel like I'm just convincing myself now :] And plus if your already feeding them worms at least if you raise them yourself you can gutload them with all kinds of good stuff for your fish.
