Hey Guys !!!

i currently have a 75 Gallon Cichlid tank currently housing a 3'' Jag, 2'' Midas, 1'' BN pleco, 5'' Firemouth. i wanted to Switch to a Saltwater tank because i think there fish are WAY more interesting , the only problem is....... i read that they die real easy, is this true? What other accessories will i need? do you think i can house a LionFish and a few others in a 75G tank? maybe with a trigger fish? how often would i have to do water changes? do you guys prefer Salt or Fresh water Tanks? please explain and tell me what kinda fish you keep
Is Sand a Must? can i use Gravel? Will i need a Sump?

If you guys have Saltwater Tanks setups feel free to leave a Picture :D

Thanks Alot :)

man u need a alot. depending on what u want u need good lighting a wet dry setup with possibly overflows built into the tank. u need a really good wet dry. theres alot of things that happen. once up and running your fine. u need a skimmer a heater and air stone as well. man there is alot really. you can google and it gives u a step by step.

By interesting do you mean behavior, looks, what?

When you say "more interesting" what are you looking for? I've had a large variety of fish over the years, and have come to the conclusion that cichlids are by far the more interesting fish. They each have their own personality, there is a large selection of colors, even temperament. They are intelligent and can come to recognize different people and respond to them in different ways.

triggers are brilliant we are only missing a few from our collection now but most grow huge and they love zipping up and down the tank length so need room, my fave is the clown so very pretty and excellent personality but hes killed a stingray a wobbigong shark an epilutte shark a few tangs and a lion fish and a zebra eel mabey it was just ours being superaggresive he gets on well with his fellow triggers.

My advice is to read up on keeping salt water before you even try. Books like marine sw aqaurium keeping for idiots books like that I learned a lot through that and of corse research it here if you got any probs. Like fw it has its own needs.

I have fw and also plan for one day to start a salt water. Good luck!
