Should I take these off craigslist?

I really don't know alot about this subject but it might be safer to line the drums in something like that pond coating stuff everyone uses for waterproofing wooden tanks.

Just though I'd throw that out there in case its a good idea. Like I said I dont know alot about this. ;)
 
The only way to know for sure is to test them.. after the soaking/cleaning process.. get some cheap fish, or xfer some of your current fish you wouldn't be heartbroken over if loseing. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. toss them in for a few monthes and treat them like a tank. particularly if you plan on using them for sumps for anything even remotely sensitive/fragile/important to you. I'de rather lose 3 fish i had neither alot of money or emotion involved in, then cross my fingers and pray the first few weeks of useing something i was even somewhat skeptical about. personally it'de save me some restless nights.
