Hi all. I currently have a green arowana and i am not sure whether i should tan it. When i went to a local fish farm , the owner said that it can be tanned. However, when reading forums on monsterfishkeeper, people said that tanning is only for red and gold arowanas20200616_102653.jpg20200720_204715.jpg

If i shouldnt tan it then any recommendation on the type of light i should get?

I really like the natural coloring of green arowanas. The wild look will make it unique IMO. Plus, too much UV exposure can't be good for the long term health of the fish.

I have not heard of green arowana tanning, I am sure more knowledgeable keepers will chime in soon enough.

Regular fluorescent or LED lights should work fine for viewing

I believe from what I read that you really only tan red and gold arowanas.

You don’t need to hard tan Arowana Pino, but you can still use T5/T8 white lights to improves the color shine.

Go for it. However, their colour potential is not as extended as reds or golds. i would look into the gill curl first. just my 2 cents.
