So I am wanting to get some more color in my tank. Have not tried SPS before. Can have any SPS under 216 watts of T5's in a 100 gallon tank. I have seen some acropora that I like a lot.

Maybe...that seems like really low WPG...but then again thats pretty outdated. Best bet would be to get a PAR reading and throw that at us. I would recommend way more light though. Then again, I have seen people run 300w MH on a 150g growing mad SPS. So you never know.

They are HO's with single reflectors. Two 12ks, one 460 atinic and one 460 atinic. I don't have a meter to read par. My water has actually been really clean. Too clean for zoos. Have to direct feed now.

I have seen some different acropora that I would like to try. I like the blue green colors that are available.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Myteemouse. LOL I am going to get a smaller cheaper piece tomorrow and see how it goes. I had planned on putting it higher to give it more light. Will post some pics in the evening.

Oh boy...acros can be demanding. I would recommend an H2O change the night before you know you are going to go buy some acro. I usually do this, and this way the coral can adjust into a more inviting environment. As water quality goes down, your coral is more likely to do well than if it had been dumped into the WORST H20 quality you have in your tank.

Thats my .02 on buying acro, especially if you have softies in the same tank.

I would go with some monti caps too. These will keep you feeling good about yourself while you kill your first couple acros...if you do.
