Should I upgrade my filter?

I had one on my 29 but I left it to my brother and it kept the water clean for a long time but he doesnt take care of the tank like I would or we would maintain a tank how its suppose to be. Last time I was there I cleaned the tank and filter . It was so bad all the bio waste was caked inside the filter

Ac=aqua clear , 110 is the size

I can get em cheaper from my lfs . I know the owner so we always making trades and he gives me a pretty good discount on everything . My jd that I got from him he wanted 40 for him . I gave him my old 40 breed n 5 bucks for thd jd .
