I know a lot of folks in the States order direct from Swiss Tropicals online. I buy from an excellent LFS that stocks the stuff; perhaps you have something close by as well.
It is sold in sheets of various sizes, thicknesses and degrees of porosity, as well as in pre-drilled towers or columns which can be cut or used whole to create extremely effective sponge filters of various sizes.
