hey guys, my rtc is moving the wood where he lives... i'm getting worried about it bangin on the glass and breaking it coz i've already resealed the tank due to a leak in the past. he's been in that wood since he was small. and he pretty much outgrew it already. the thing is my aba2 is also living in that wood. should i remove it?

i'm worried about stressing my rtc for i think he's used to the shelter that wood gives him coz he practically stays there ALL THE TIME. he used to stay inside of it when he was still really small but he wont fit anymore. he then started diggin the substrate and dragging the wood. the wood is pretty big and the cat's pretty strong! haha!

he might also scratch himself in the process. i really dont like wounds on my fishes...

so should i remove it? should i? should i? should i?

I say yes unless he has enough space to fit in it comfortably. I end up removing all of the decorations in my tanks as my cats get larger for the simple fact of avoiding injury. You'd need a large tank like John's to keep hiding spots for these cats as they get larger.

For the simple fact that your fish is outgrowing its decorations, YES, you should remove the wood. It will enjoy the extra swimming space. I highly doubt that soaked driftwood will have sufficient energy to break your aquarium glass. It might have sufficient energy if your fish is smashing the wood into the tank. I highly recommend wood over stone in a tank with a catfish.

hey guys, i tried removing the wood, but it seemed to upset my cat... it seemed lost... i worried that it might affect his appetite or his health... thats why i decided to return it.

he can still fit bout half of him in... hmm... what dya think?

Is possible to adjust the wood by removing the bottom. then you could put in on rocks to raise it so your RTC could fit in it more. I hope this makes sense to you. Figure out a way to adjust it to fit his needs. Most fish dont like changes to their tank.
