There is a big difference between animals that hunt people and animals that are dangerous that kill people. In the USA we only have about 3 animals that would even possibly see humans as food, wolves, grizzlies, cougars. 99.99% of ppl that are outdoorsmen wont ever even encounter a wolf or cougar because they are so rare.

You forgot black bears, gators and crocs. Theoretically so could a pack of yotes but realisticaly no.

Jim Corbett was a great man. His books on how he killed on more than one occasions man eaters that ate people in the triple figures are great reads He fought to conserved the animals while would not hesitate to kill a problem animal.

Short answer: No.... Unless it is in self-defense.

However, taking the position of, "we should just stay out of their habitat" will spell the death of wilderness. The only way to save (non-human) nature in a human-dominated world is for us to find ourselves within nature, in which case the threat of predation is simply a danger that we must live with.

The author makes an interesting point about the retaliation aspect, but that doesn't mean we should kill these animals, it just means that killing them may prove a lesser evil.

We should worry more about the human predator than the animal predator. Maybe they should be eradicated first.

Are you making an offer?

Having been 1v1 with all of those animals multiple times while doing work on my land or mountain biking I have not once seen them do anything but run. Yes they can be dangerous if you provoke them just like a rattlesnake, but unlike the 3 I listed their regular potential prey would not contain corpse meat. I also have a hard time believing a pack of coyotes could even kill a person.

honestly we the earth could benefit from a few less people.

yes kill animals that are doing nothing more than what they were intended to do, eat, breed and survive...we are not the top of the food chain and people freak out when something smacks them with that reality.

I get the part about revenge killing..hell people went out and kill stingrays when Steve Irwin died...and we were all betting on crocs!!. ..i dunno maybe Im bias i like animals allot more than people ..and maybe animals that eat humans a little more>.>...but maybe that's just me.
