Those fish will generally eat anything that even resembles food. They are also known to just quit eating for long periods of time for no apparent reason. Like the other guys said, just give it time.

try pre cooked shrimp like you would eat. i just cut mine into small pieces and he'll go after them if he's hungry. then again i've seen my 5" tsn eat pieces of hotdog..

I have this tiger shovelnose for almost 8 months now. He ates anything like sinking pellets, raw shelled shrimp, superworm, raw small fish...I don't encourage him to eat live fish for the fact that my aquarium set up may turned topsy turvy for finding the swimming fish or even live shrimp.... He's 24 inches more or less

Once my feeders are gone, Im going to starve my fish for 3 or 4 days and try pellets. I bought Hikari Massivore pellets, hope this does the trick (keeping my fingers crossed)
