How big is your aro? Possible but iffy.....cigarette lighter converter......a cooler, powerhead ( with a filter would be best )and a AC in the car ;)

Here is a possiblity due to the possible size.. Still nothing is guaranteed.... This Excellent perpaired and Planned way to transport LARGE fish. I believe, still ended with one or two Fatalities. But in my opinion is right at the top of the very best tranprotation plans available :)

yeah.. hook up the largest cooler you can find and have a power inverter to a medium powerhead and have a flow bar spraying from one end to the other to provide swimming flow.. you can also add a ventiru to the powerhead and have a valve to adjust the air intake.

and its also good to have a prefilter on the powerhead too (like mentioned above). and i would personally stay away from tranquilizers unless your pretty sure you can handle it. make a straigh shot and hope for the best...

man this trip gonna be 24 hour from NJ to San Antnio, texas.. ..i think if i find a regula aro like silver or jar then im gonna ship him but if im finding a good hook up wit ma peep for asian aro then it is a risk to tranfer it by car, it mind die like i had read above... man. i had to learn more carful befo im taking the trip

Best way to move a larger fish like that is a cooler with an airstone. If you don't want to run a power inverted, there are battery operated versions at bait shops you can buy.
Also, take a pH test kit with you. Expect it to drop off with time, and be prepared to buffer it as needed.

A word of caution: Don't risk an Asain Aro in Texas. The guys down there have an extra out of for them right now, and don't blink to push jail time for having one.

I did it from England to Portugal ( not Spain...)

all the above advide is correct...ad in a sponge filter and a couple of jerry cans with extra water ( the water the aro was in, ok ' ) and do some partial watere changes on the way..

My aro was transported for 21 hours with 5 water changes along the way...open siome holes on the top of the box for gas exchange to take place.

My aro was trasnported in a 130 litre box.

Ya I would say why not add a sponge filter to the transport box of your aro that way it can keep things clean and airated as you go. Good luck with it all!
