The black spots on the fins and body are spots that are healing and or peeling
Most Amphilophus are silver with black bars as fry. Around 3in or so they "peel" to the adult coloration.
Also when they get injured the regrowth come in as fry colors and peels again.

I would agree it's looking more female than male from body shape.
