Just "WOW"
I want to do this with my 450!
My tank is 30" deep, is that too deep for a planted tank? I guess it depends on how much light huh?
What kind of plants are those and do you use CO2?
Damn, I might start going to the planted forums :irked:

Yes I have 4 t8 tubes running on it and hopefully upgrade to t5 soon. CO2 wise I'm planning to use liquid carbon from easy-life however, I may reconsider this as I've read lots of reports on plant fourms that this is very potent stuff and I don't want to risk my high back arowana.

I use that liquid carbon on my planted tank. I don't think it is all that good though. It helps combat algae but doesn't really help plant growth. Probably a better option for a carpeting plant would have been hair grass (Eleocharis parvula). It spreads very quickly and is very easy to grow. I have it in a 125l tank with no CO2 and just two T8's and it has done really well.

Thanks for the "wow"
that tank is 24" deep, so all you need is some easy, tall plants like in there is valisneria, wysteria, and some swords- the light fixture is a 4 bulb shop light with 2 or 3 different color home bulbs and no CO2 just fluorish with iron for fertilizer

Does your baby swim all the time? One i seen at the petstore in town was just sitting on the bottom. It may have been new to the tank. Thoughts?

From what I've heard that's not good. Mine never stops swimming and mostly on top. Even when he was young
