hey guys im thinking of putting a rtc or rtc x tsn hybrid with my tsn what do you think. what is the more safer option tsn is 7 inches. there is a 4 inch hybrid and tsn in lfs what is the better and safer option

alright dude glad to see your tsn is fine now after your disaster start , how big is yours now ? Just thinking the 4" hybrid mite get bullied by yours if its much bigger

Id say its worth a go just keep your eye on them first few days see if they fight or the hybrid gets bullied , ive found if they make it past the three four day mark they generally ok

I always make sure if I put smaller fish in that I offer hiding the bigger ones cant get into. I recently added a rtc in with my hybrid

Here is is on June 10th at 10 inches (grew 5.5 inches since May 7th)

I do partial water changes 5 times a week, I developed a way to change 15 gallons out in 15 minutes without using a python and I fill by buckets to de-chlorinate before adding new water. I keep my Nitrate below 20 ppm and monitor my ammonia and nitrite everyday. My wife calls me fish nerd on a daily basis and says she wishes she got the attention my cats get haha

who do you think has the fastest growth overall rtc or hybrid. there is rtc and a hybrid at 4 inches in my lfs what option do u think is a safer option with tsn of 7inches

Safer as in which will grow up to eat the TSN?

The one thing i have noticed is that the growth seems more dependent on the fish. I have 2 hybrids and 2 RTC, my one hybrid grew 5.5 inches in a month while the other one grew 4inches (on the same diet). I have only had my RTC for 10 days and they have both packed on the same amount of weight and length (about 1.25 inches). So I have one hybrid growing slower than a RTC and one growing slightly faster. I think on the average, they have a relatively even growth rate, at least in my experience.
I will say this about safety, my RTCs are more aggressive when it comes to eating than my hybrids, they literally will eat whatever fits in there mouth. At 4 inches they were slammin massivore pellets like nothin. My hybrids can be picky eaters.
Personality wise, I like the RTCs a little bit better... safety wise you MIGHT be safer with a hybrid but probably not by much. I am not sure how fast TSN grow but my hybrid went from 4.5 inches to over 10 in 35 days.

or who would most likely be eaten by the TSN now?

I think either will grow fast enough to not get swallowed up if you keep your TSN full and offer plenty of hiding. Like I said, I have never owned a TSN but my hybrid at 8 inches slammed down a 4 inch fish.
