Ctrl alt dlt Have u ever seen fish peck and peck and peck at a crevice or maybe a net breeder to get out food? Essentially thats i think what you have to replicate.

I hope the idea i gave you works. Pwnz. Oh and i think you could consider yours piebald but usually i consider a piebald fish with three colors with black a piebald.

I've seen threads and some other sources state that Labiatus lose the lip size in captivity. However, I am unsure if any actual research has ever been done on this specific phenomena. Who knows how variable individual lip size is in the wild? This is the only pic I got from Jeff of my fish. You can see his brood of youngsters swimming around him. The lips look like they may have been larger in the past. Maybe it's the angle. No idea how long ago that was taken and don't feel it's worth pestering Jeff about. :lol2:

Is that how the fish looked when it was taken from the wild (or very soon after taking it from the wild).
Your fish do look like it had some lips. Nothing compared to the wilds, but definitely more than TRs.

Looks like they are like FSA -- use it or lose it ;)

I missed out on Rapps recent imports, but to answer the question "will they lose their lips in captivity"? Mine hasnt. He is 4 years old now and they are as big as ever.

I hope to get some from Jeff on his next order.
