I don't believe so. People usually put what they call NAN lights on their red aros to make them look more, well, red. But I can't seem to find any NAN lights supplier around here. I find that the T5 from Coralife do a decent job, and are not "too pink", as I don't want everything in my tank to be pink or red. I find that for Blue Base XBs, a light blue light combined with a blue background makes the fish looks really good.

Silver Arowanas look really nice with the Colormax T5 also.
 
Take a look at the reds in the gallery, they don't even need to have dark backgrounds to make their color more intense. They are as red as they get!

I think it is NAN lights. But nonetheless, their fishes are supposed to be the best in the world. They even garantee the development of color on their fishes. The fish in the picture is truly of quality, look at its scales, it is even cross belly.
