SHOW OFF YOUR BIG OSCARS :)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oscars can be really cool... They're definately the Wettest Pet you can get out of all the cichlids with their intelligence and personality. You can actually see them figuring things out in their eye movements and behaviour.

My Oscars is about 5-7 years old, maybe older, maybe younger.

He was a rescue, he came into my lfs with bad fin rot, hith, fungus, missing scales etc..The previous owner kept him for a few years in a 55 and was severely neglected. I paid $8 for him. I nursed him back to health In a 40b.

He's in a bare bottom 75g with 2 406's and a pair of whisper 60's on it. His only roommate is a 6" JD. They get along great. They get 70% water changes every week, sometimes twice a week if I have time.

I suspect he's stunted. He's approx 10-11" and doesn't seem to be growing much anymore despite his nice new home. He was maybe 8 or 9" when I got him like 3 years ago. You can tell the proportions of his body are sort of "squished" I doubt he'll ever be a 14" monster

Heres my albino oscar not sure on size (large) in a tropical pond had about 5 years from about 1.5 inches.like him so much as his still ice white and not gone crram
