Are these guys really slow growers ? and they seems to be really particular about their food. Mine only eats mp, tubifex and when he feels like it blood worms. he ignores pellets, live fish, etc.

Thanx Sergio! I'm sure you recognize the first one. Yeah the thick moke is something else. The most graceful swimmer of all my bichers. It's starting to green up more on the head and starting to show green all over its body. Hope to take a good pic of it soon.

All the "long term" moke owners that I've spoken to seem to think so. Yes, they are very particular in my limited experience. Have two baby mokes that do not eat bloodworms, pellets, mysis shrimp, krill, etc... only finely chopped tilapia.... and only while the lights are out..... while my other baby bichirs eat with the lights on.no problem. My skinny moke also took long before it started eating. at one point I was afraid I was going to lose her until I noticed her big bulging stomach one day. Even to date, she eats only after the eating frenzy is over. The thick moke on the other hand started eating on the second day.
