when I was really in to my tanks had two grow from 2.5" to 8.5" over the course of about 8 months or so. miss those fish, broke down the bigger tanks when I went saltwater

Mine actually grew quite fast and hit the size he is at now just after a few months. I'll try and upload a picture later.

If your senegals are failing to grow you most likely font have a large enough floor space for them to swim along, not chaninging eater often enough, improper feeding

Also the issue of inbreeding the hell out of the species in dirty farms produces some very weak bichirs

I agree with this. I have an 7-8" senegal that I bought from a lfs at 3". 29g for a month, 75 g for 2 years, now in a 180. I dont want him but cant bring myself to get rid of him because he was the first fish I ever bought.
