show piece fish for a 75?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was looking at jeff raps stock list and really liked either

Nandopis haitiensis

or

hoplarchus psittacus

would either of those be viable?

Both could go well in a 75, but it may be a bit of a squeeze. True parrot would probably be the better bet, black nasty would appreciate a bit larger of a tank (15 inches full grown).

Haitensis, argentae, hoplarchus, all get a bit too big for a 75 in my opinion. Males at least, female would be fine as they stay a good bit smaller.
You would also want softer, lower pH water for a true parrot.

arghhhhh. Fish base said 9 inches for max size. MFK is probably more creditable because of all the experience people have.

Cuban cichlids stay much smaller, they have a slight resemblance to black nasties in color and are quite mean.

I just looked up parrots, I never thought they got more than 10 inches. They get 14-18, so yeah... a bit too big for a 75.
