I'm glad I saw this thread. I just accidentally caught some member of the trout family the other day while bass fishing and was wondering if anyone could Id the guy for me. It went after a top water lure and hit hard, I was impressed. Hopefully this phone pic doesn't suck to much to tell.

thanks, the brown was my first brown i've caught. then i did something i could never do again if i tried. released the fish, cast, caught a fish, and it was another brown. only about 8" smaller that time. that brown taped out to almost 20"

caught a bunch of little dinky ones in CO, not sure if I have any pictures up or not, i know my brookie pics arent up

That's a nice looking brown. And just so you know next time, trout+rolling around in dirt=a dead fish. They are much more fragile than most warmwater species and it doesnt take much to kill them.
